Powerland: two decades leading a business technology company
At Powerland, I worked on using computers to improve how companies operated, including our own. Leading a technology business meant understanding the people doing the work, the systems they relied on and what needed to change.
Xerox acquired Powerland in February 2022. Its announcement describes Powerland's work across Canada in cloud, cybersecurity, end-user computing and managed services. Innovate Eastman's public adviser listing also identifies me as Powerland's founder.
The three projects below are my firsthand accounts of work at Powerland. They show the business systems experience I bring to today's AI implementations.
Quoting and selling as the business grew
The challenge: Powerland needed systems that could support quoting and selling technology as the business expanded.
What I built: A quotation and point-of-sale system for Powerland's sales operation.
What changed: The system supported the company's ability to quote and sell at a much larger scale. Quoting was part of the operating infrastructure the business could grow on.
What that means for your business: A quote is part of a sales process. Today, we work through the information needed to answer an inquiry, prepare the quote and help the customer take the next step. See how we approach sales quote automation.
Tracing warranty returns across retail locations
The challenge: Retailers with multiple locations needed to trace where a product came from and get it back to the right supplier for warranty repair or replacement.
What I built: An automated Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) workflow to trace a product's path across retail locations and back to its supplier.
What changed: Retailers could follow that path and route warranty returns for repair or replacement. The work connected the original product information with the action needed to resolve the return.
What that means for your business: A useful customer response depends on knowing what happened, which rules apply and who needs to act next. Those are the same questions we ask when configuring your inquiry workflow.
Building systems for federal technology supply
The challenge: Powerland lacked the infrastructure needed for a large-scale technology supply operation serving Canada's federal government.
What I led: A project to build both the software and an ISO 9000 quality system supporting that supply operation. The work combined technology with the processes needed to run it.
What changed: We built the infrastructure to automate the supply process and support federal government technology orders.
What that means for your business: Reliable automation needs clear operating rules as well as software. For today's AI projects, we define the workflow, test its outputs and agree where people need to review or approve the result.
Wilderness Edge: the workflow inside my own business
I founded Wilderness Edge Retreat & Conference Centre in Manitoba in 1999. A group inquiry can mean rooms, meals, meeting space and changing guest numbers. Answering it used to mean gathering information and building the quote by hand.
Today, I report a first quote in 2–6 seconds compared with 17 hours on average before, and my weekly inquiry work has fallen from 40 hours to under four. Those are observations from my own business, confirmed in September 2026. The case study explains the figures and their limits.
Everybooking: turning the operating experience into software
I founded Everybooking in 2019 to address the inquiry and quoting work my own operation needed. The platform supports email, SMS, voice and website inquiries, using a business's information and rules to prepare replies, quotes, invoices and next steps.
Zero Second Offers is the agency I founded to help other businesses configure that system for their own workflows. We agree which requests the AI can handle, where a person should approve the result and what information must stay current.
You can read my Everybooking founder profile and LinkedIn profile. I am also certified by author Allan Dib as a 1-Page Marketing System consultant.
Your rules need your involvement
Nobody outside your business knows every exception, what you promise a regular customer or when a request should be declined. We work with you to make that knowledge usable, test it against real inquiries and teach your team to maintain it.
The first implementation should address a defined workflow with a clear owner and a measurable result. We review the information sources, integrations and approval needs before agreeing the scope.
The quantified Everybooking case study on this site comes from Wilderness Edge. Each new business needs its own requirements review. Explore the businesses and inquiry types we help.
The agency and the software are connected
I founded both Everybooking and Zero Second Offers. The agency implements Everybooking; it is not an independent comparison service for every software product.
Our setup can include email, SMS, voice and website inquiries, AI-written replies, quotes and invoices within the agreed scope. Implementation starts at US$5,000, with software costs separate. Read how implementation works and review pricing.
Talk through your own workflow
The first conversation is free and takes 30 minutes. Bring one inquiry and the work it took to answer it. We will discuss fit, the information and approvals involved, and what a useful first implementation would look like. See what to bring to the call.
